AutoCAD 2017 - based products Model Documentation fails

Issue:

When working with Model Documentation in AutoCAD 2017 - based products the Viewbase command will fail to work as expected.

Solution:

To resolve this issue install the AutoCAD 2017 Model Documentation Hotfix which applies to all publicly released 64-bit versions of Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2017-based vertical products and resolves multiple issues when using views in conjunction with the model documentation feature.

Note:
If you already have a 2017 service pack or update installed, then you will need to modify the inventor.ini file prior to installing this Hotfix. Please click on the link for the technical solution on the Hotfix download page. This step will need to be repeated if another update is applied after a successful installation of the Model Documentation Hotfix.
You can use this workaround to correct the problem for the languages listed in the Language Chart below.
  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017 Inventor Server\Bin.
  2. Find inventor.ini.
  3. Be sure to have Windows administrative privileges so that you can edit this file
  4. Right-click the file and select Edit.
    The following content is displayed:
    [Autodesk Inventor Installation Options]
    ClientVersion=21.0.402.0

  5. Change “DefaultLanguage” value from "enu" to the language ID you want to use (as shown on the following chart). Then save the file.
